A Message from The Senior (.'lass Advisor:
Dear Class of 2009:
I bavf; had the: honor ol u.ilcliini; vou ijrun and
develop into fine young adults from the day you entered
the doors of Minnechang. A I li;r four short years, the
doors of Minnechaue, will he closing In-hind you; do not
look at this with sadness lor with those doors closing,
new ones will open. It has heen within these safe and
COmfortahle classrooms and hallways that you have been
able to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes,
which in the end has only helped you to discover your
true self. Many of you have learned that being true to
yourself is more important than being true to the image
that others have created for you, while others are still
learning. You have all grown and learned at a different
pace, but nonetheless you have done both during your
brief four years at Minnechaue,. It is your time to carry
the lessons you learned at the small blueberry patch we
call Minnechaug into a much bigger pasture. This binder
pasture may not be as comfortable and secure, but it is
the triumphs and trials that you experienced here that
have prepared you for all the obstacles that lie ahead. Do
not be discouraged if some doors are closed off In you nr
if ynu enter a dnnr and do not find what you are looking
for. Eventually, the right door will open and you will
stand triumphant once again. You are part nf a legacy
and have left a pnsilive and lasting impact in the history
of Minnechaug. It is your turn to now leave behind the
familiarity and security found within Minnechauj;. and
discover a whole new wnrld and a whnle new you.
Remember the lessons that were learned and the
transformation that you made. As Dr. Seuss once wrote.
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your
shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you
choose. Y'ou're on your own. And you know what you
know. Y'ou are the guy who'll decide w here to go."
Congratulations on a job well done. I wish all of you
continued grnwth and happiness in your future
endeavors.

Message from the Superintendent
I am pleased to send this letter of congratulations to you as
you embark on life's journey outside the halls of Minnechaug.
You have distinguished yourselves as a strong class in all facets
of your high school experience. You have made wonderful
contributions to community service, excellent academic
progress, and outstanding achievements on the athletic fields
and in the arts. You have done it all!
Your yearbook theme, "Some Assembly Required,"
brought back memories of my time as a young father on
Christmas Eve putting together toys for my children. I can
vividly remember working in to the wee hours of Christmas
morning trying to put together toys only to find leftover parts
and extra screws, nuts and bolts. My story is analogous to
your theme in that your years in school have required some
assembly, and yet as you leave here, things are still not quite
complete.
You will soon enter college, the workforce or the armed
services where you will finally put the finishing touches on
your life's preparations. I am confident that "all the pieces"
will fall neatly in to place in time and you will be successful in
the years ahead. You have my best wishes as you leave the
Minnechaug community.

Message from the Principal
We have all purchased something - a game, some type of
equipment, a piece of furniture - that has that dreaded message,
"Some assembly required." The assembly directions are
recognizable, but not necessarily comprehensible. "Place Tab A
into Slot B." "Connect the ratchet assembly to the cable frame."
"Place the D-Clip into the anchor pin." The directions can make
your head spin. Your frustration might be compounded by the
diagram and the number of parts that accompany the directions.
I remember being convinced, for example, that the diagram and
parts list that came with my kids' swing set were actually intended
for a NASA space shuttle. What an ordeal.
Imagine, however, having to assemble something that did not
come with a diagram or a complete set of parts. Yet in assembling
our lives this is exactly what is happening. Teachers, parents,
friends have given you many of the directions, parts and tools
that you will need to construct your lives. Yet, you don't know
what the finished product will look like and you do not have all
the parts. New parts and new tools will be given to you in the
years ahead, as you meet new friends, new teachers and
colleagues. Through it all, you will continue to assemble your
life. I am confident, however, that you will be surprised and
pleased with the final product.

Minnechaug Regional High School.
